Mabel Lake water supply disrupted due to construction

Residents in the Dolly Varden and Walker Road area will have their water supply turned off for nearly two weeks as planned construction work is done at the Mabel Lake Water Utility (MLWU).

Isolation valves in those areas are being replaced as they either do not meet the current standards, are not functioning properly, or are severely corroded.

The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) advises residents the construction will potentially lead to the interruption of water service between Monday, Sept. 20 and Friday, Sept. 24, and again from Monday Sept. 27 to Friday Oct. 1.

During those days, water supply may be unavailable at properties served by the utility between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., though those hours may vary in the event of unforseen circumstances which impede the work.
