Campfire ban lifted in Kamloops Fire Centre and Vernon
The City of Vernon is lifting its ban on campfires as of noon today.
The change is being made in conjunction with an announcement from the BC Wildfire Service that campfires are now permitted in the Kamloops Fire Centre.
Campfires have to be smaller 0.5 metres high and 0.5 metres wide.
Although fire danger ratings have declined in the region due to recent rainfall and cooler temperatures, residents are reminded to exercise extreme caution with any campfire use.
