The province also reports that five new deaths were recorded Thursday, three from the Fraser Health region, one in the Northern Health zone and one in the Island Health jurisdiction. A total of 1,847 British Columbians have now died due to COVID-19.

The health-care facility outbreak list remained steady at 22 Thursday, with 13 of those sites located in the Interior Health region.

The provincial first dose vaccination rate for eligible recipients over the age of 12 rose to 85.3 per cent Thursday, while the second dose vaccination rate for eligible British Columbians climbed to 77.8 per cent.

The province also notes that between Sept. 1 and 7, a total of 4,694 cases were confirmed in B.C. Of those, 3,296, or 70.2 per cent, were unvaccinated individuals, 393, or 8.4 per cent, were partially vaccination people, and the remaining 21.4 per cent, or 1,005 British Columbians, were fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile between Aug. 25 and Sept. 7, a total of 344 British Columbians were admitted to hospital with COVID-19 complications. Of those patients, 80.5 per cent, or 277, were unvaccinated individuals, while 5.8 per cent, or 20 of those patients, were partially vaccinated and 13.7 per cent, or 47 of them, had received both jabs.
