Emergency response team assists in high risk arrest
A man who police say was not following his release conditions has been taken into custody in West Kelowna.
RCMP say Michael Collins, 43, was released on significant conditions on his outstanding charges on Aug. 24, and one day later, police were notified that Collins was not abiding by the conditions, and numerous efforts to arrest him were unsuccessful.
The file was submitted to the BC Prosecution Service who approved charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving while prohibited, and issued a warrant for the arrest of Collins.
On Sept. 1, RCMP located Collins in a residence in West Kelowna. He was arrested with assistance from the RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team.
