Evacuation orders remain in place for affected properties in four regional districts — TNRD, Columbia-Shuswap, Central Okanagan and Regional District of North Okanagan — as well as the Okanagan Indian Band.

The White Rock Lake wildfire was first discovered on July 13 near Douglas Lake. It eventually grew to 83,342 hectares, largely to the north and west, and is responsible for destroying dozens of properties.

The B.C. Wildfire Service says a planned ignition earlier this week burned off 975 hectares in an effort to remove potential fuel.
