Advisory lifted

Kal Beach safe for swimming again

Signs posted at Kal Beach recommending against people taking a dip at the popular spot are being taken down today.

The District of Coldstream and Interior Health have confirmed that test results taken on Aug. 30 showed that bacteria counts at the site on Kalamalka Lake were within acceptable Health Canada ranges, which allowed a beach advisory to be lifted.

The swimming advisory was first issued on Aug 12.

District of Coldstream chief administrative officer Trevor Seibel told Vernon Matters they have not been given an answer to the question of the cause of the high bacteria levels.
