Vernon RCMP searching for thief who stole a vehicle, broke down a fence

Local Mounties are looking for a suspect who broke into a business then crashed their way out in a stolen vehicle.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said a thief broke into a business in the 4600-block of 27th Street in Vernon at around 3 a.m. Monday, July 27.

An alarm was triggered at the business and the owner called police, who arrived on the scene and found the thief had made their getaway by crashing a stolen pickup truck through a fence.

The stolen pickup was a red and white, two-toned, 1996 Ford, with a B.C. licence plate #5780.
