UPDATE: Motor vehicle accident on Highway 97 North

UPDATE: Northbound traffic on Highway 97 is moving very slowly following a motor vehicle accident earlier this afternoon (Thursday April 1).

A caller to Vernon Matters/Beach Radio indicated as of 2:20 pm, a trickle of traffic was getting through headed north, southbound traffic is not impeded. “It looked like a semi-tractor had a 14 foot Lund aluminum fishing boat in it’s grill,” The caller stated.

Police and Swan Lake BX Fire Rescue are on scene.  It is not known if there were any injuries.

The stretch of highway has been the scene of several bad accidents.

ORIGINAL: BX Swan Lake Fire Rescue has been dispatched to a two vehicle accident on Highway 97 North at Meadowlark road.
