The wildfire south of Vernon that broke out on Labour Day is now officially out.
The B.C. Wildfire Service said there are no longer any personnel on the site near Westridge Road, after a couple of days of mop-up and patrolling for hot spots.
Taylor MacDonald from the service said they have not officially determined the cause of the 25 hectare blaze, but reports say it was sparked by a vehicle fire on the side of the road that spread to the dry grass, and was fanned by strong winds.
Fortunately, no properties were in the immediate area.
