Council location changed due to COVID-19

The District of Coldstream is changing the planned site for its Sept. 14 council meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic guidelines.

The meeting was to be at the Lavington Fire Hall, but will now instead be at the regular council chambers at the district office on Kalamalka Road.

“This action is in support of the public gathering orders and social distancing measures put in place by the provincial health officer, to ensure the safety of residents and staff alike,” a news release from the district said.

Only seven people will be able to attend the council or committee-of-the-whole meetings in addition to council and staff members.

“Attendance will be on a first come/first serve basis and seats may not be reserved for late attendees,” the release said.

The district said all people attending meetings, including elected officials, staff and members of the public, will be expected to adhere to the health and safety protocols.

The protocols will be posted before entering council chambers and are also available on the district website.
