Aug. 18 9 p.m.

Coldstream, Vernon and Lavington fire crews responded to a fire west of Highway 97 across from Okanagan College Tuesday evening.

About six fire trucks responded to the incident a short distance off Clerke Road where some grass caught fire around 8 p.m.

The fire was put out.

There was no immediate word on the cause.

Coldstream Fire Chief Fiona Morgenthaler-Code told Vernon Matters they were on scene and had an active role but they turned the scene over to Vernon Fire and Rescue and she referred questions about the investigation to that department.
