No Need To Wait To Vote

Apr 11, 2017 | 1:31 PM

Now that the provincial election has been called, you don’t have to wait to vote.

Electoral offices around the province are open for voting if you can’t vote May 9th.

“BC has the most accessible voting system in Canada, and we encourage all eligible voters to cast a ballot,” says Keith Archer, Chief Electoral Officer.

Vernon-Monashee District Electoral Officer Jan Mori says people are welcome to come in

“They can vote in our DEO (District Elections Office) anytime during our office hours, Monday to Friday 9 to 5, and Saturdays from 10 to 4. We will have several different advance voting opportunities,” Mori tells Kiss FM.

Mori says advance polls will be held in Lumby and Vernon April 29th and 30th and from May 3rd to May 6th.

The Elections BC office in Vernon is at 1150 Kalamalka Lake Road, in the former BC Gas building.
Mori says hundreds of people are being hired for the advance polls and on election day.

“If anyone is interested, they can access it online for the information, or just drop by our office and submit an application.”

Candidate nominations close at 1 pm Tuesday April 18.

You can go to the Elections BC website for more voting information.
