Election Campaign Is On!
Christy Clark met with the Lieutenant Governor today at Government House, officially dissolving the legislature, and starting the 28 day election campaign.
Voting day will be May 9th.
The Liberals — under Clark — will be seeking a fifth straight mandate, having governed the province for the last 16 years.
The NDP are pinning their hopes behind leader John Horgan who says the party will make life more affordable for residents.
Green Leader Andrew Weaver is asking voters who are tired of the status quo to give his party a chance.
In the Vernon-Monashee riding, there are five candidates including two term incumbent Liberal Eric Foster, along with Barry Dorval of the NDP, Keli Westgate of the Greens, Nels Harrington of the BC Conservatives, and Don Jefcoat of the BC Libertarian Party.
The Shuswap riding features Liberal Greg Kyllo seeking a second term, challenged by Sylvia Lindgren of the NDP, and Kevin Babcock of the Green Party.
