UPDATE: Thunderstorm warning ends

The watch is now a warning.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning that covers the North Okanagan.

“Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain,” said an advisory from the weather agency issued at 4:25 p.m.

“Radar indicates a line of severe thunderstorms just 20 km west of Salmon Arm is moving northeastward at a speed of 60 km per hour.”
