Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has announced the sixth straight day of no COVID-19 deaths in BC.

In her briefing Thursday (June 11), Henry said the province’s death toll remains at 167.

And Dr. Henry says — for the 15th straight day — there have been no new cases recorded in Interior Health.

There were 14 new cases recorded in B.C. Thursday for a provincial total of 2,694 since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

This is where those cases have been found:

  • 917 (Vancouver Coastal)
  • 1,386 (Fraser Health)
  • 130 (Vancouver Island)
  • 195 (Interior Health)
  • 66 (Northern Health)

Of the 183 active cases in the province, 13 are in hospital and five are in critical or intensive care.

Eighty-seven per cent of those diagnosed with COVID-19 are considered fully recovered, totalling 2,334 people.

Dr. Henry said a cluster of cases linked to the Kearl Lake project in the Alberta oilsands is now winding down.
