BCHL approves changes for 2020-21 season
The B.C. Hockey League plans to crack down on fighting and slew-footing among new measures approved at the league’s annual general meeting.
Starting next season,a player will receive supplemental discipline [suspension] after their second fight, down from the previous standard of four fights.
Any player who commits a slew foot will be assessed a four-minute double minor penalty or a match penalty, depending on the severity of the incident.
The league held its AGM over a series of video conference calls over the last month, with the Board of Governors approving several new initiatives and protocols for the 2020-21 season.
