City outlines steps taken to deal with Covid crisis
The City of Vernon is detailing the measures it has taken to deal with the impact of the Covid pandemic.
Some of the moves have been to ease the financial burden, like waiving interest on 2020 first quarter utility bills, and adjusting the penalty date for 2020 city property taxes
The city also provided a one-time grant to residents to partially offset property taxes, and suspended enforcement of on-street metered and two hour parking areas until July.
Another measure was to start up a park ambassador program to provide information to residents about how they can spend time outside in a safe manner during the public health emergency.
