BX area house a loss in morning fire

A house in the BX area was a total loss following a fire Thursday morning.

The blaze started at the house in the 6900 block of Pleasant Valley Road around 9 a.m. April 30, causing the road to be closed near the Vernon Christian School.

The homeowner, Adryan, told Vernon Matters he believed the fire was electrical and started in the carport, then quickly spread along the cedar beams and shingles to the house.

He said the house, as well as thousands of dollars worth of uninsured collectibles he planned to sell at ComicCon, were lost in the fire.

However, Adryan still had a positive demeanour as he, his family and his dogs were able to escape unharmed.

BX Fire Rescue was still on the scene of the fire as of time of publication.
