May 13, 2020 | 4:26 PM

Thousands of people have already responded to a new survey on the Covid pandemic in B.C.

Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, said there has been 75,000 have responses to the survey launched on Tuesday, which she called “outstanding.”

“We are asking a wide range of information in this survey, and there is a reason for that. We need it to understand the similarities and the differences in the experiences that we have all had.” This pandemic has affected all of us, but in many different ways and it’s important we recognize these unique challenges that different people have.”

Henry reiterated her order limiting public gatherings to fewer than 50 people remains in place.

“But that is a maximum of 50 people, and that only applies provided you can provide for them to maintain safe distance between people.”

She said if you are inside, or in a smaller venue, it might be many fewer than 50 people.

“We need to make sure we fit the number of people to the venue. This order will remain in place for the forseeable future,” stated Henry.

The doctor also said the order to stay home if you are sick, or if you around someone who is sick, will also remain in place.

Henry also said to remember to stay in smaller groups, to reduce your contacts, and the chances of spreading the virus.

“The fewer faces, the bigger spaces. That’s important to think about. It’s about location, duration and relation,” said Henry.
