Today is the day fans get to pay their final respects to the Founder of Rock `n Roll, Chuck Berry. Fans lined up before dawn today for a final goodbye, roughly three weeks after his death at age 90 near his hometown of St. Louis.
In passing the casket, fans particularly liked the beloved cherry-red Gibson ES-335 electric guitar bolted to the inside of its lid.
Outside a musician fan was playing Chuck Berry standards such as ‘Johnny B. Goode,’ ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ and ‘Sweet Little Sixteen’.
The Rolling Stones were huge fans of Chuck Berry and sent a flower arrangement in the shape of a guitar.
The 4-hour viewing is being held at The Pageant, a club where Berry appeared many times. This will be followed by a private service and celebration for the musician’s family and friends.
