Canadian companies step-up to make medical equipment

Apr 7, 2020 | 9:16 AM

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says thousands of Canadian companies have offered to help make personal protective equipment to battle the Covid pandemic.

Trudeau said at his national address Tuesday that includes three firms that will produce 30,000 ventilators which he feels will be enough to meet “the worst case scenario,” and will be ready “in the coming weeks and months.”

“On behalf of all Canada, I thank you. It is truly inspiring to see so many people wanting to help,” said Trudeau.

Other companies will make medical gowns, test kits and other equipment, and 3M in the U-S will be sending a half million masks to Canada after resolving concerns with US President Donald Trump.
