UPDATE: B.C. Liquor Stores reducing hours; ‘challenges’ to keep shelves stocked
B.C. liquor stores are staying open but with reduced hours in order to protect their staff during the coronavirus outbreak.
As of today (Thursday), most of the government-run stores will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The stores have also implemented social distancing of at least one metre, effective immediately.
“This means sales associates and cannabis consultants will maintain a one-metre distance from other employees and customers, and will encourage customers to keep a one-metre distance from one another while they await service at the till,” the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch said.
