Campers Can Start Early In Lumby

Lumby Council has approved the early opening of the Lumby Lions Campground.

It normally opens May 1st but the Lions asked to be open now.

Interim Mayor Julie Pilon says the move was made to accomodate Sir Charles Bloom Secondary School’s reunion.

” They have asked if the campgrounds could be open a little bit earlier to accomodate some campers that are coming in with RV’s. ”

She said since those campers are only going to be staying overnight, councillors decided it would alright.

As well, it helps the area’s economy.

The campground will still close September 30th and no camper will be allowed to stay longer than 2 weeks at a time.
