No Help As Fire Burns House

Your house catches fire and you call the fire department and nobody comes.

That’s what happened to Susan Tanner late last night when a fire broke out at her home on Highway 97 down from Bailey Road just south of Vernon City limits.

Tanner tells Kiss-FM her boyfriend was watching TV about 10:30 when the fire broke out.

She was sleeping when he rushed in to wake her up.

They grabbed their clothes and got out.

Several calls were made to local fire departments but none would attend because the area is out of their jurisdictions.

The house was left to burn.

Neither Tanner nor her boyfriend were hurt.

She has no idea how the fire started.

Fire officials Kiss-FM spoke with early this morning sympathized with Tanner, callig it unfortunate but the area is a non-coverage zone.

Tanner is hoping to get some answers today.
