City CFO Retires

The head number-cruncher with the City of Vernon is moving on.
Kevin Bertles has been the Director of Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer the last 15 years.
He has submitted a letter of retirement to the city, effective today (March 23).
During his tenure, Bertles and his staff were recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award four years in a row, and the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting six years in a row.
“On behalf of the City, we wish Mr. Bertles success in the next phase of his career,” says Mayor Akbal Mund.
Debra Law has been appointed as Acting Director and CFO for the City.
