Lane closures for road project

Drivers are being advised of lane closures on the highway through Vernon starting later this month, for a road upgrade.

Construction along 48th Avenue (29th Street to Highway 97) continues as part of the city’s investment in the infrastructure and active transportation, which helps make Vernon a great place to live,” said a city news release.

The project includes a new drainage culvert, road improvements and multi-use pathway on the north side of 48th Avenue.

The second portion of the project is tentatively scheduled to start Monday, Sept.16 with completion in early October.
