Aug 29, 2019 | 10:11 AM

Vernon Vipers got their first win of the BCHL preseason, 5-4 in overtime over the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at the Shaw Centre Wednesday night.

Five different players scored for Vernon, including Connor Sleeth with the game winner 19 seconds into the extra period.

Trey Taylor, Curtis Hammond, Colby Feist and Nick Cherkowski also hit the back of the net for the Snakes who were up 4-2 going into the third period.

“The game had its up and downs as expected, but it was a good challenge for our group as we continue in the next step of the process,” commented Vipers Head Coach and GM Jason McKee. “We were probably guilty of trying to do too much individually at times.”
