Cadets converge on camp
The cadets are back in town.
The Vernon Cadet Training Centre (VCTC) has kicked off its 70th year by welcoming over 900 cadets for summer training programs.
“Over the next six weeks, army, sea and air cadets from across Western Canada will be receiving instruction and training in a variety of specialties at the centre including music, ceremonial drill, marksmanship, fitness and sports, and expedition. In addition to these unique experiences and skills, cadets will finish the summer with new friends and a new sense of confidence,” Captain Melodie Fallah, the unit public affairs representative, said.
The camp will run until mid August.
