Auction Raises Funds For Refugee Family

An online auction is being held to help a refugee family settle into Vernon.

The single mother and four children from Syria, who are currently in Lebanon, will be arriving in the next few months.

“The funds would help cover some of the initial expenses such as damage deposit and first month’s rent, weather-appropriate clothing, household needs, school supplies, and medical emergencies,” says a media release from The Long Table, a refugee sponsorship group in Vernon.  “All money raised will be held by the East Hill Community Church in a separate account dedicated to refugee expenses.”
