Funtastic community grant now accepting applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Funtastic Community Grant Program.

The grant provides funding for local sport, recreation and community groups in the Greater Vernon Area .

This is the 34th year Funtastics has provided funding to local programs through their grants and donations.

The organization says that since 1985 donations have totaled nearly $1.7 million.

“The Funtastic slo-pitch tournament and music festival showcase the community’s volunteer spirit,” says President Ryan McGiverin. “Highlighting Vernon’s exceptional weather, recreation areas, sports fields, and top notch accommodations. This encourages participants to return each year to the benefit of local business. It is the number one economic driver of the North Okanangan in the summer months and Canada’s largest Slo-pitch/ music festival.

The deadline to apply is May 31, 2019.

The 2019 Funtastic event is from June 28-July 1.
