Homeowners in Armstrong will see their municipal tax bill rise 2.6% this year.
The increase works out to an extra 48 dollars for the average home, assessed at $360,000.
Mayor Chris Pieper says part of that is to cover extra policing costs now that the city has gone over five-thousand residents.
“It’s a big impact for Armstrong because 78% of our tax income comes from residential, and we’re at 20% commercial. We have no industrial, so it’s a direct impact on residents,” Pieper tells Beach Radio News.
