Rally Focuses On Eye Clinic
A rally will be held next week aimed at keeping the Lions Vision Centre in Armstrong.
There has been talk Interior Health could move the facility to Vernon Jubilee Hospital due to a shortage of anesthesiologists.
“We just kind of heard what we thought was a rumour, but checking it out a little further, it was definitely more than just a rumour. There had been some meetings, discussions and proposals with Interior Health to possibly move the clinic to the Vernon hospital,” says Armstrong Lions Club President Diann Boyd.
Boyd says they were told Interior Health has not been able to get an anesthesiologist out to Armstrong occasionally, which has led to rescheduling.
