Township Takes Stock Of Water System

Spallumcheen council has agreed to spend 15-thousand dollars to study the demand and capacity of its inter-municipal water service with Armstrong.

Spall mayor Christine Fraser says the study will look at the existing lines and connections, and costs of future upgrades.

“It will see what the capacity of the system is and some of the financial implications and all that, so that Armstrong and Spallumcheen both know what were looking at for future connections, the volume of water, what the pipes can handle, and all that kind of stuff,” Fraser tells Beach Radio News.

Fraser says the township will also seek additional provincial grants to help with water districts that voluntarily want to dissolve.
