Brazen, Daytime Car-Jacking

RCMP are searching for an armed suspect and a stolen SUV following a brazen car-jacking in Kelowna.

The suspect is said to have jumped into the back seat of the victim’s vehicle around 1:30 pm Sunday outside a hotel in the 1000 block of HarveyAvenue, triggered what sounded like a Taser device and told the woman to get out.

“The victim promptly exited her vehicle and ran away after she turned around and observed what appeared to be a firearm in the suspect’s possession,” sayss RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna Detachment.

Police are looking for a black 2015 Hyundai Tucson with BC licence plate HG282D.

The suspect was described to police as a male in his late 20’s or early 30’s, standing approx. 5’ 8” tall, with short blonde balding hair, a wide mouth and poor complexion. He was seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue windbreaker and dark coloured jeans.
