SilverStar is calling its Seismic Spring Festival a massive success.

Thousands of people visited the resort for the ten day event featuring  sports, music, arts and culture, with money raised for local charities

Resort media relations manager Chantelle Deacon says it was an awesome kick-off to spring, and it will return next year.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better festival. Everything ran so smoothly, and it was obvious everyone was having a great time.”

The Arts Council of the North Okanagan and SilverStar’s Fire Hall were among the non profits to benefit from the fundraising.

Deacon says the Winterland tasting event that took place Saturday evening, attracted hundreds of people.

“Winterland was one of our main events planned during Seismic, and it proved to be just as successful as we hoped it would be,” says Deacon.

The sporting activity included skiers, boarders, and mountain bikers hitting the slopes in search of winning a slice of the $50,000 SilverStar gave away in cash and prizes.

SilverStar is into the final week of its alpine season, which ends on Sunday, April 7.
