Incumbent Byron Louis Tops Polls for OKIB Chief

The results are in for who will govern the Okanagan Indian Band for the next term.

Incumbent Chief Byron Louis, with 240 votes overall, claimed the position over Dan Wilson, coming in with 183 votes.

Cindy Brewer was third with 148.

Since first elected in 1991, incumbent Chief Louis served six consecutive terms as a councillor, before being elected chief in 2011.

Both Wilson and Brewer will serve on council.
