Friends Help Out Avalanche Victim
A Vernon man is facing a long recovery after getting caught in last week’s avalanche at Silver Star.
Friends say Nathan (Nate) Fisher (pictured) was snowboarding when the slide caught and dragged him through some trees last Wednesday, leaving him with multiple broken bones, a broken jaw and a laceration to the throat.
A Go Fund Me account to help the employee at Attridge has so far raised over $25,000 (on a goal of $15,000) to help Fisher, who at last report, was in intensive care in Kelowna hospital.
Fisher’s friends were out raising funds for him with a hot dog sale at Silver Star Saturday and will be out again next weekend.
