Change In Bus Fees Gets Initial Support

Controversial bus fees for students at Vernon schools are a step closer to being changed.

The Vernon School Board has approved first reading of a motion that would see all bus riders pay a $25 dollar fee.

The change would also mean that students who are considered courtesy riders would see their fees drop from $300 to $200.

The district says the change would generate roughly $40,000 in additional revenue.
