Paint The Town Returns

Get Ready To ‘Paint The Town’ Again

Mar 12, 2019 | 4:06 PM

Armstrong council is providing businesses with an incentive to upgrade the outside of their buildings.

Council has agreed to waive the normal $500 to $600 development and variance permit fees for the Paint The Town program from April 1 to September 30.

It’s being brought back after a successful debut in 2018.

“Like last year, if you register for the program, you get reduced paint costs at the local hardware store. It’s just a very positive thing that city council is doing to help businesses clean up their property and make our little town even better than it is,” Mayor Chris Pieper tells Beach Radio news.

Pieper says it’s a way to motivate commercial and industrial business owners to upgrade their buildings, and make the downtown look better.

“If the business owner wants to take the initiative to improve the outside of their building, then we want to help in a small way,” adds the mayor.
