Firefighters Ignite Awareness For ‘Raise The Roof’

A citizens campaign to add a roof to the Lavington outdoor rink is gaining momentum.

The Lavington Community Association has already put aside over a quarter of the estimated $300,000 cost of the project, and are actively applying for grants, and seeking donations from individuals, businesses, and corporations around  the North Okanagan.

The Lavington Fire Department has presented the association with $1,000 in support of the “Raise the Roof” campaign.

“The members of the fire department hope that their donation will signal the start of a flurry of local donations to help in this venture,” says a news release from the association.
