Taxi Business Picks Up More Support

Enderby council in supporting a plan for new taxi service to serve customers between Armstrong and Grindrod.

Twilight Express has purchased a 14-passenger shuttle bus for general service during the day, and as an events bus, for things like wine tours, theatre shows, and music in the park in the evenings and on weekends.

“This shuttle bus has passed inspection and is currently getting a face lift with a new logo and decals,” says owner Bonnie Lothian-Godwin in a letter to the City. “We have drivers ready to roll, and we have one taxi that is in the shop for inspection.”

Lothian-Godwin says they will be picking up passengers between Armstrong and Grindrod.

“We are prepared to take the passengers as far as Salmon Arm or Vernon with return.”

Armstrong council is also supporting the venture, and the owner plans to apply for license this month.

“We will be submitting the letter to BC Transportation by the end of March with our permit applications to show that there is a need and support in the area,” says Lothian-Godwin, who is co-owner with her husband.

“They’re getting great support from everyone. They’ve got some pretty good ideas, so we’re looking forward to them getting their approval,” says Enderby Mayor Greg McCune.
