Lumby’s Dessert Brothers Once Again…Really Use Their Noodles

Mar 3, 2019 | 9:01 AM

Once again two brothers from Lumby placed first and second at Okanagan College’s 36th annual spaghetti bridge building contest on Friday.  For the last two years, Justin Dessert (below) has taken top spot.  But not this year.

James Dessert (left) took home top prize for his bridge, which held 137.94 kilograms and placing second was brother Justin Dessert of Charles Bloom Secondary School in Lumby.

James Dessert, who is enrolled in mechanical engineering at Okanagan College,  placed first in 2014, second in 2018, 2017 and 2016 plus third in 2015.  His bridge held 128.55 kg before shattering.

For using his superior  ‘Noodle Knowledge’, James Dessert won $1,500.  That will buy a lot of celebratory spaghetti later…which I’m sure he’ll share with brother Justin.
