Industrial/Business Park Plan Goes To Public Hearing

A public hearing will be the next step for a proposed new industrial park in Vernon.

The Silver Star Gateway Business Park is planned for 8.5 acres on Silver Star Road across from Butcher Boys.

City Council has given two readings to rezoning amendments, with a public hearing to be held March 25 at City Hall.

The amendments would change the zoning from rural residential to light industrial and from mobile home residential to community commercial.

“The owner has submitted a rezoning and development variance permit application to redevelop the subject properties into a three phase new light industrial and commercial business park. The intent is to develop 37 multi-tenanted units in a total in five industrial and commercial buildings,” says City Economic Development Planner Roy Nuriel in a report to council.
