City Backs Taxi Plan

City Backs Taxi Plan

Feb 27, 2019 | 6:30 AM

A proposal for a new taxi service is getting support from Armstrong council.

Twilight Express Corporation is pitching an idea for wheelchair-accessible ride service in Armstrong, Enderby and Spallumcheen.

Mayor Chris Pieper says it would really help their residents as they currently don’t have taxis.

“They are relatively new to the community, and they are looking for an opportunity to serve the community. They have acquired a van that will be wheelchair accessible,”  Pieper tells Beach Radio News.

The group is in the process of gathering community support, before seeking provincial licensing approval.

“Anything like that would help our community. It would be great,” adds Pieper.” I think if they can do a regional business plan, hopefully it will be successful,” says Pieper.
