Order of Jopo Awarded to City of Vernon: Kari Gares Accepts

Vernon Winter Carnival presented the Order of Jopo to the City of Vernon on Saturday.  Newly elected Councillor Kari Gares (bottom left) accepted the award on behalf of the City, which was presented by Carnival Chair Deb White.

This honour, with a long history going back to the early `70’s…has been awarded to past carnival chairs, dignitaries, long time carnival workers as well as honoured cities.

Since it’s inception 59 seasons ago…White (bottom right) said the city has continually supported carnival and is a long deserving recipient of the award.
