The BC Junior Curling Championships being held in Vernon are down to the last few days.

The three junior men’s and three junior women’s teams progressing to the playoffs include former B.C., Canadian and World Junior Champions as well as Vernon’s hometown favourites.

Junior women’s semi-final action got underway this morning, as Vernon’s Team McGillivray (Megan McGillivray, Jaelyn Cotter, Katelyn McGillivray, Cassidy Schwaerzle) played Team Victoria for a spot in the final.

Unfortunately, Team McGillivray fell to Victoria 7-4 in nine ends.

Delta Thistle’s Team Daniels finished round robin play at the top of the junior women’s standings with six wins and one loss and will take on Team Victoria tomorrow.

Junior men’s semi-final action begins at 3 p.m. with Royal City’s Team Sato versus Vernon, Kelowna and Invermere’s Team Colwell (Erik Colwell, Logan Miron, Ben Morin, Tyler Powell).

Langley and Victoria’s Team Tardi finished round robin play at the top of the junior men’s standings with six wins and one loss.
