Police Look For Owners Of Stolen Keys

The arrest of several stolen vehicle suspects in Vernon has led to numerous sets of keys being recovered.

A picture of the keys appears above — and you can get more information by contacting RCMP at the number below.

The keys, and other stolen property, were found in in a Honda CRV on Oct. 10th, which was reported stolen from Salmon Arm.

Three suspects were arrested at the scene on 29th Avenue, with two now facing charges.

39 year old Louis McIlvenna has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of identification documents and theft of credit card.

27 year old Lexa Owen has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking.

The other passenger, a 50 year Vernon man, was released from custody and faces no further charges.

Cst. Kelly Brett says they are now looking for the owners of the keys that were found.

“Often keys are stolen out of cars, garages and personal belongings and can be costly having to get home, business or vehicle keys re-cut and or replacing door locks.”
