Pot Shop To Stay Open

‘Lot of Sad Faces’ On Final Day For Pot Shops

Oct 16, 2018 | 5:27 PM

While most Vernon pot shops will be closed Wednesday — one will be open — and expects to have lots of people coming in.

Herb’s Healing Centre owner Russ Stevenson will be giving away cannabis to his existing medical customers, just charging them the tax, to keep it as legal as possible.

“I expect somebody (legal authority like police) to come in and have a chat with me, (but) I don’t actually expect to be in handcuffs out of this.”

Stevenson says his protest is a show of support for his clients who depend on marijuana for their health.

“The risks are there, but my customers are worth it.”

Vernon’s pot shops stayed open later than normal Tuesday night — the  final day they could legally remain open.

“it was pretty busy and a lot of sad faces. Today was the last day we could taken recreational in so we’re cutting all those people out,” adds Stevenson.
