Stolen Vehicles Involved in Crash

Three stolen vehicles were recovered after a highway crash between Lake Country and Vernon.

A Ford F550 dually truck  hauling a John Deere excavator and loaded on a dump trailer collided with a cement barrier near the Oyama Road off-ramp Monday morning.

“Our investigators have determined that the truck, trailer and excavator had all been reported to police as stolen sometime over the weekend,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP. “Initial findings suggest that the trailer, which had damaged wheels, was not suitable to safely transport the excavator.”

The vehicles were towed from the scene.
