Future use of former Log House site still undecided

Plans for the use of the site of the former log house in Coldstream are still up in the air.

In the fall of 2025 the District of Coldstream demolished the log house, with a plan to use the property as a park. The municipality also had planned to improve the habitat and nesting grounds for turtles as part of the landscape planning.

In determining how to use the site, the district issued a call to action and consulted with a number of local groups to gather ideas for potential future use of the park land located on Kalavista Drive.

While the consultations did generate some feedback, including using the park for youth arts, recreation programming, and highlighting the wetland’s wildlife and ecological importance, a decision on how best to use the property was not determined.
